A press conference dedicated to the Asian Wrestling Championship was held in the Central Communications service hall

Today in the capital, in the hall of the Central Communications service, a press conference of the Asian wrestling championship was held.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Sports and Physical Education of the Ministry of Culture and Sports Bektenova Aigul Bakytzhanovna, the Secretary General of the Wrestling Federation of Kazakhstan Sultanov Dimash Rafkhatuly.

The speakers presented the mentioned competition and answered questions from journalists.

"At these competitions, the honor of the country will be defended by 30 athletes of three types of wrestling. Their average age is 29 years in Greco-Roman wrestling, 25 years in women's wrestling and 24 years in freestyle wrestling.

Prizes for first place are $2,300, second place are $1,400 and third place are $900. This award is given not only to the winning athletes, but also to their coaches. In addition, the title “Master of Sports of International Level” was also considered,” said Aigul Bakytzhanovna.

We remind you that on April 9-14, 2023, the Asian Wrestling Championship will be held in Astana at the Martial Arts Palace named after Zh. Ushkempirov with the participation of wrestlers from 20 countries.

For the first time, the Asian Championship was held only in freestyle wrestling in 1979, and two years later, Greco-Roman wrestlers determined the strongest of the Yellow Continent. The Asian Women's Wrestling Championship has been held since 1996.
