Completion of the 1st international boxing tournament in the capital

The winners of the 1st international boxing tournament, organized by the Akimat of the city of Nur-Sultan and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the occasion of City Day, have been determined. Chairman of the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Samat Ergaliev and Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the city of Nur-Sultan Samat Zhylkybaev, President of the Boxing Federation of Kazakhstan Sovet Rakishev and silver medalist of the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games, a Kazakh known to our country boxer Bolat Zhumadilov took part in the closing ceremony of the tournament and awarded the winners. It should be noted that the “Capital Cup”, held at the Martial Arts Palace named after Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov on the occasion of City Day, lasted from June 29 to July 4. More than 250 boxing masters from 10 countries competed in this tournament in 25 weight categories. That is, the best of 13 weights among men and 12 among women were determined.

50 boxers took part in the final, 23 of them from Kazakhstan. As for the results of the competition, the Kazakhstan team won 16 gold, 7 silver, 20 bronze medals at this tournament, that is 43 medals in total, proving once again that it is a world-class boxing power. In the team competition, the Chinese team took second place with 3 gold, 7 silver and 2 bronze medals. And the Uzbekistan team, which closed the top three, won 2 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze medals. In general, following the results of the tournament, our athletes from the Kazakhstan national team - ring masters - once again proved their strength.
